Bourbon County Band Booster Meeting
April 26, 2010

Vice President Pam Rule opened the meeting at 6:01 along with Treasurer Heather Sparks. Secretary report distributed by Sarah Auvenshine and approved by common consent. Treasurers report distributed by Heather Sparks and approved by common consent.

Old Business:
Fundraising: Leslie Hart and Tom Horseman from Spirit Fundraising came and spoke with us about their full line of products. Spirit Cards along with candles, candy, cookie dough, and Florida fruits. They want to come in and do a kick off with the kids to help educate them to sell more when we have the Spirit cards or anything else of their line. They will tally and pack the orders or if we want to do this, our profits will be larger. They left some information on what they have available.

Senior Banquet: everything went well. Sarah Auvenshine asked next year to use same lady for balloons if we need.
Winchester Bingo: Heather still needs 5 people to sign up for May 1st. Please contact Heather at 859-509-1654 to sign up. You can also split the shift with someone if you can’t work the entire night. They called and gave us the date of June 26 instead of June 19. We will get sign ups for that at our next meeting.

Bluegrass Festival: June 10-12 11 am to 11 pm. Cathy Elkins has the sign up sheet. We are working all gates this year so be sure to sign up.

Band Fees are due and payments will be accepted.

New Business:
Fair June 21st thru 26th We will work on Fair signups next meeting. We will be parking and working the gate for them again.

Alabama BOA: Trip will be Oct 8-10. We are looking into using charter buses for this. More figures on this will be discussed.

Concessions: We are losing Brandon and Mrs. Farmer. We will need someone to take over the concession stand during the football season. Our first game is August 27th. Please contact Tamara if interested.

1st Annual Golf Scramble: Will be July 17th at Shady Brook Golf Course. James Arnold is heading this up and gave out information about prices and contests. Will need about 14 people to work this, most will be in the morning. Blair Rule made the motion to hold the scramble, 2nd by Dale Ellis. Please contact James if you want to sign up to help.

We will need to start advertising for this soon.

Poker Run: Is still on but date is not finalized yet, James has 2 stops confirmed. May need workers just to cook that day.

Preview Show: Will be August 28th and we need to start getting ads for our program. Shonda Ritchie will start on this and if anyone has suggestions or wants to help, please contact her at 859-707-6240.

Perico’s: Shonda Ritchie talked with Perico’s and they will hold a fundraiser for us like they did Project Grad. She will get with them soon about a date.

Uniforms: Mildred Hanrahan and Shaun Wrenn will take this over with help from some other parents. Thanks to them.

There will be 16-20 guard who we will need to purchase uniforms for.

Ring Donations: We have $2250 in donations so far and still need to raise about $4000 more. 1st year student rings have been ordered and will not have the “B” on the top. Older student rings will be ordered with the “B”. If you need a donation letter, Marjorie Abney, Heather Sparks and Shonda Ritchie have them. Please let anyone of them know and they can e-mail or print them out for you.
